Mostly photography, but other stuff too

Aging out of foster care

One of the best parts about photography is all the people you get to meet. Recently working on a project for SalaamGarage Local:NYC about young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, I met Richard.

He is one of the tens of thousands each year who age out. During his time in foster care, he became — as he phrased it — “addicted to moving.”

Now that he’s on his own years later, he’s looking for ways he can inspire others, through volunteer work or singing with his church choir.
