Sitting, waiting….

I shot a fashion show the other night, and as with most things you try to get there early to make sure you have a good angle before all the choice spots are taken. Getting there early also means waiting. So of course I find ways to pass the time by looking for things to shoot. I was luck y to capture this walk through before they opened the doors.

Goofing around in the park

Just a couple shots messing around in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Totally impromptu, just had inspiration strike, but the results came out pretty great. At least I thought so.

Still backlogging

Several times over the past year, I’ve been attending a networking/photo shoot/creative endeavor on Staten Island. Basically it’s a bunch of creative folks getting together to do what they love…making things. I love it, because it gives my creativity a jump start. Concepts spawn from nowhere as people just build idea upon idea. The original theme (I use that term loosely) was comics, but as you can see it went in other directions, too.

Creativity everywhere

A group of artists, models, photographers, basically all kinds of creative types, got together for a networking/photo shoot event called Facetime at NYC Arts Cypher on Staten Island. One of the people I met called it a jam session for artists, which is a fantastic way to describe it. Everyone came loaded with ideas and of course when there’s creative types, new ideas spawn out of other ideas and things evolve. There was a tremendous amount of creative energy, it was impossible not to make great images. Here are a few highlights.

It’s been a while…

Design work had taken over my life for a few weeks, and I hadn’t shot for a while. I think I was going through withdrawal from not creating images. I think I’m still going through withdrawal from a lack of documentary shooting and storytelling, but that’s next on the agenda. Anyway, just to get shooting, I signed up for a Meetup to do some fashion test shoot with a few photogs and models at what turned out to be a really great site in East Williamsburg. Between the studio, which also had an industrial space, and the surrounding streets there were myriad options.
